The Tidewater Bicycle Association proudly presents our signature event, the 40th Annual Knotts Island Century ride.  One of the ride’s highlights is that the traditional English and Metric Century routes both cross the Currituck Sound on the North Carolina State Ferry, from opposite sides.

Registration includes SAG support, rest stops, snacks, sports drinks, cue sheets and marked routes.  This year's post-ride meal will be provided by Gourmet Gang, and is available for (optional) purchase during registration.  An optional 40th Anniversary Knotts Island commemorative T-Shirt may also be ordered (thru 4/23 only) at the time of registration.  (TBA members: please login to register at the discounted member rate)

Cancellation Policy:  The KI Century is a rain or shine event.  Inclement Weather/Act of God refunds will not be offered, as the majority of the registration funds will have already been spent on event planning such as City permits, port-a-john rentals, facility rentals, electronic sign boards, etc., and these costs cannot be recovered to refund to you.  This is standard policy for nearly all bicycle events and is non-negotiable.  Cancellations will be accepted until no later than midnight on Friday, April 15th.  Contact: editor@tbarides.org.

    • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    • Landstown Commons Shopping Center, corner of Princess Anne Rd. & Dam Neck Rd., Va Beach

The Ride of Silence will begin in North America and roll across the globe.  Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways.  Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.  Please come out for this TBA ride to help raise awareness.

We will ride in silence at a very casual pace (~10-12 mph) along Dam Neck Rd, London Bridge Rd, General Booth Blvd, Nimmo Pkwy, and Princess Anne Rd (approx. 10 miles total).  Headlights and taillights are recommended; helmets are required to participate.

From:  Landstown Commons Shopping Center (corner of Princess Anne Rd. & Dam Neck Rd.)  We will convene in the northeastern-most section of the shopping center parking lot, near PetSmart.  Please plan to arrive by ~6:30 to allow time for parking, ride preparations, and ride roster sign-in.  Plan to be ready to ride by 6:45.  After a short pre-ride briefing, we will depart promptly at 7:00 p.m.
